You pick the point. We’ll get you there.
Substance use help for people 13 to 17, in Trenton and Toms River. You do not need a ride figured out first, and you do not need to have it all sorted out at home.
START HERE
Any of this sound like you?
You said you’d stop using and then you didn’t.
Things that used to matter don’t right now.
Your people are your people, and they all use.
School is getting harder to show up for.
Someone at home is scared and you’re tired of the conversation.
You’re not sure this counts as a problem.
It does not have to be a crisis to be worth talking about. Most people who come here are somewhere in the middle.
THE PROGRAM
What Waypoint actually is
You meet with a counselor. You meet with a small group of people your age. Your family comes in for some of it, on terms you help set. You work on what you want to change, at whatever pace is honest.
You decide what you are heading toward. Nobody picks it for you, and you can move it whenever you want.
Some people come a few times a week for a while. Some people come once a week for a long time. Both are normal.
Reading this on your own? You can call us yourself. We will talk it through with you, and help you figure out how to bring your family in when you are ready.
SCHEDULE
What a week looks like
IF YOU COME MORE OFTEN
Three afternoons a week
About three hours each. Group, individual counseling, and time with your family worked in. This is where most people start when things are moving fast.
IF YOU COME LESS OFTEN
Once or twice a week
An hour or so. This is where people go when things are steadier, and where people come back to after a harder stretch.
You can move between the two. Moving down is not a demotion and moving up is not a failure.

FOR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS
If you are the one who found this page
You have probably already tried a few things. Most families who come to us have.
IRON has worked with New Jersey families since 1987. Your child will be seen by licensed clinicians who spend their days with teenagers, and you will be part of it the whole way through.
WHAT HELPS MOST
- Coming to the family sessions.
- Telling us what you are seeing at home.
- Letting your child have some time one on one with their counselor.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- You will know the plan, the schedule, and how things are going.
- A seat in family sessions from the first week to the last.
- Nobody here will tell you this is your fault.
My child does not want to come. Is this pointless?
No. Most teenagers arrive unwilling, and our counselors are trained for exactly that. How it starts says very little about how it goes.

GET IN TOUCH
Tell us a little and we will call you
Got it. Someone will call you. If you would rather not wait, call (609) 394-8988 now.
Sending this form does not enroll you. Someone will call to talk through whether this is the right fit. At Toms River, if you are using insurance, coverage has to be confirmed first, which usually takes a few business days. We will tell you where things stand rather than leaving you waiting.
